"The waves broke and spread their waters swiftly over the shore. One after another they massed themselves and fell; the spray tossed itself back with the energy of their fall. The waves were steeped deep-blue save for a pattern of diamond- pointed light on their backs which rippled as the backs of great horses ripple with muscles as they move. The waves fell; withdrew and fell again, like the thud of a great beast stamping." Virginia Woolf – The Waves . The weather has been stormy in Porto for a few days. Waves five meters high (16 feet) have been crashing relentlessly over the jetty. Even after the worst part of the storm passed the whole area was closed off, so I couldn't get as close to the majestic power of the waves as I would've liked. . When the waves burst into the sky they looked like the clouds of an atomic bomb. . Even from where I stood the thud of the waves sounded just like a great beast stamping.
Yep, a VERY busy time of year! Lots of events, work, friend and family get togethers, shopping to do, and you didn’t realise you put your head on backwards this morning. You may not be able to escape just yet but you can take 10 minutes just for yourself to breathe. Do it now. Refresh. Relax. Photo taken in Sorrento, Victoria
