Day 4. had a go at trying to create a tasty recipe video with my phone and this is the result 😂 Burmese food id say is a mix between chinese/Indian and Thai. I've shown how to create a Burmese eggplant and pork curry. I have no time to write down the recipe as my data is leaving me. But I hope you guys enjoy this it took me all of TODAY SON. *nevermind my data left me so I have all the time in the world. Recipe (feeds 6 people) Curry: 1 head of garlic 3 onions 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp shrimp paste 1/2 cup fish sauce 500 grams of pork (any part) 4 Chinese eggplants 1 cup of dried chillies 1 tbsp tumeric 2 tbsp tamarind paste 1/4 cup oyster sauce 2 tbsp masala powder Marinade: 1/2 cup fish sauce 1 tsp salt 1 tsp msg 1 tbsp turmeric Method: -rehydrate the chillies and leave aside. -marinate the pork and cover then leave aside -once the chillies are hydrated combine them in the food processor with the garlic and two of the roughly chopped onions. Dice the third onion and leave aside. - heat oil in pan then fry the processed chilli paste. -fry until a deeper red and then add in the shrimp paste and masala powder. -once the fried paste is dark and clumping in small groups, lower the heat from high to low add in the marinated pork and stir. -pour enough water to cover the pork then chop your eggplants into 8. Place them on top of the water and cover. -wait for the curry to boil and place the tamarind paste in water and grind to get out the juice. -once the curry is boiled and eggplants and pork is tender stir in the tamarind water. -serve on hot rice with fresh greens :) #burmese #burmesefood #curry #life #food
